Error description
When the BKSIMDSN value is specified within a BKSHELF bookshelf file, the fully qualified location of the BKINDEX file is known and it should not be necessary to search for it. An error message in the cgi-errorlog file indicates that the .bkindex file is not found, implying that it is being searched for.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of bookshelves stored in MVS datasets * * were affected. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the BKSIMDSN value is specified * * within a BKSHELF bookshelf dataset, * * it specifies a fully qualified dataset * * name of the BKINDEX dataset to use when * * the default BKSINDEX does not exist. * * The problem was that an error message * * was written to the cgierror.log file * * when the default BKSINDEX did not * * exist but the BKSIMDSN was specified * * and did exist. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install the PTF * ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
Now if default BKSINDEX dataset does not exist, and is not found in USS, an error message is written to stderr only if the datase specified by BKSIMDSN keyword does not exist. Also, if default BKSINDEX dataset does not exist, but *is* found in USS, and BKSIMDSN is specified and the BKSIMDSN dataset exists, then the BKSIMDSN is used, overriding the default USS file. However, if both the default BKSINDEX dataset and BKSIMDSN specified datasets exist, the BKSINDEX dataset is used if the BKSINDEX keyword occurs before the BKSIMDSN keyword in the BKSHELF file. If BKSIMDSN occurs before BKSINDEX, the BKSIMDSN index will be used. In these last two cases, an "multiple index found" message is written to stderr. 330Y EPHBKSRV
