Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS V12 OM * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: U0104-00000004 after rebuilding OM * * audit log structure * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** This is a PTM to APAR conversion of v12 PTM KC50101. When OM receives an ENF 48 signal from the MVS logger, an AWE is enqueued to CSLOLEN0. If OM needs to reconnect to the log stream, and the log stream is available, CSLOLEN0 will attempt to do so. The IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT call, which is used to reconnect to the logger, may return with a warning return code. Although these warnings are not serious enough to warrant abending the OM address space, they nonetheless result in an abend because CSLOLEN0 will abend OM for any nonzero return code from IXGCONN.
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** CSLOLEN0 is changed to handle warning (IXGRETCODEWARNING) return codes from IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT differently. Instead of taking an abend, CSLOLEN0 prints an informational message, CSL1000I, and processing continues normally. CSLO1ENU is changed to define the new message. Documentation change SRL: GC18-9713-08 Messages and Codes, Volume 2: Non-DFS Messages Chapter 4, CSL Messages CSL Messages This service adds a new message, CSL1000I, with the following description: CSL1000I Error reconnecting to OM Audit Trail logstream. Processing continues. IXGCONN RC=return code RSN=reason code Explanation: The LOGENF AWE queue server attempted to reconnect to the MVS logger. The reconnection was successful but the IXGCONN REQUEST=CONNECT service returned a warning return code. IXGCONN return and reason codes are documented in the MVS Programming Assembler Services Reference. In the message text: return code is the hexadecimal return code from the IXGCONN service. reason code is the hexadecimal reason code from the IXGCONN service. System action: Processing continues normally. System programmer's response: No action is required. User response: No action is required. Operator response: No action is required.
