PM47741: CSSMTP DOES NOT CONTINUE PROCESSING A MAIL MESSAGE WHEN A INVALID COMMAND IS ENCOUNTERED IN THE SPOOL FILE

Error description

• A CSSMTP spool file contained the following:
  
  HELO example.com
  MAIL TO:<user1@example.com>
  INVALID COMMAND
            < or a blank line>
  RCPT TO:<user2@example.com>
  DATA
  Subject: APAR PM47741
  From: user1
  To: user2
  
  APAR PM47741 will now allow a mail message to be sent.

Problem conclusion

• CSSMTP is amended to prevent invalid commands in the mail file
  from stopping the delivery of mail messages.  However, the
  invalid commands will increase the syntax error count, which
  can cause the spool file processing to be terminated. An
  error report will be generated if the CSSMTP configuration
  parameter REPORT is set and the spool file will be held or
  deleted based on the BadSpoolDisp parameter.
  
  The mail administrator should use this information to correct
  the application(s) that created the spool file for CSSMTP.
