    *                 for z/OS Version 1 Release(s) 10, 11, 12,    *
    * and 13: IP and Defense Manager Daemon *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When DMD is not configured with UID(0) *
    * it fails to access a message queue *
    *                      during stop processing.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When stopping the Defense Manager Daemon (DMD) while it is not
    defined with a UID(0), DMD will fail to successfully access a
    message queue during cleanup. DMD does not have write access
    to the queue. Stop processing continues to complete.
    When RACF auditing is active the following message is displayed:
    ICH408I USER(DMD     ) GROUP(OMVSGRP ) NAME(NAME SVR)
      00000000 CL(IPCOBJ  ) ID(0000000022)
      INSUFFICIENT AUTHORITY TO MSGSND
      ACCESS INTENT(-W-)  ACCESS ALLOWED(OWNER      ---)

Problem conclusion

  • EZADMSMG was modified to create the message queue with read
    write access so that it can be successfully accessed during
    stop processing. EZADMMTH was included for maintenance
    purposes only.
