Error description

  • Various abends occur when an IPSec tunnel is brought up in a
    unique configuration where a NAT is involved.  The configuration
    had a client stack, routing stack, and target stack all in the
    same host.
    These abends have been seen:

Local fix

  • Move the target stack to another host.

    The problem may be summarized as follows:
    1. A client stack, server stack, and a router
       stack are all brought up in the same host.
    2. IKED is brought up in the same host.
    3. A tunnel is established between the client
       and the server which is routed through a
       NAT box.
    4. Data traffic is sent over the tunnel.
    5. Various abends occur.
