PM17089: CEE3502S MODULE NAME TOO LONG RECEIVED UPGRADING TO Z/OS 1.10

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CEE3502S Module name was too long was received after upgrading
  to z/OS 1.10.  The code for APAR PQ35086 was not incorporated
  into the fix for z/OS 1.10.

  *                 release 1.9 and later.                       *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After upgrading to z/OS 1.10, a         *
  *                      PL/I-CICS program compiled and linked   *
  *                      with PL/I V2R3 failed with LE message   *
  *                      CEE3502S on a PUT STRING EDIT           *
  *                      statement.                              *
  *                                                              *
  *                      The problem was fixed by APAR PQ35086,  *
  *                      but the change was not incorporated     *
  *                      into the latest releases of LE.         *
  *                                                              *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  *                                                              *

  PL/I for MVS & VM runtime routine doesn't allocate enough
  storage for its DSA. This causes the LE message CEE3502S to
  be issued when executing the PUT STRING EDIT statement.
  

Problem conclusion

• The PL/I for MVS & VM runtime routine IBMRPCCA has been changed
  to obtain the correct amount of DSA space.
