APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When CSSMTP PROC is started with //STDENV DD
    DSN=SYS1.TCPPARMS(CSSMTPEV),DISP=SHR CSSMTP fails with a
    configuration error. Both times the content of the ENVAR is:
    CSSMTP_CODEPAGE_CONFIG=IBM-1047. The error message looks like
    the MVS PDS member is adding spaces to the end of the IBM-1047
    value. Messages issued:
    EZD1807I jobname ERROR IN INITIALIZATION : CONFIGURATION FILE
    ERRORS
    EZD1804I jobname SHUTDOWN COMPLETE
    

Local fix

  • Change PDS from FB to VB.

    correctly parsed when it contained trailing blanks.

Problem conclusion

  • CSSMTP has been changed to remove trailing blanks from the
    CSSMTP_CODEPAGE_CONFIG environment variable before verifying
    if it is valid.
