Error description

  • When TSO user enters some MVS cmd from SDSF session, EMCS
console is activated (IEA630I OPERATOR xxxxx NOW ACTIVE ). This
also occurs when the SDSF cmd ULOG is entered.
After this EMCS activation, succeeding MVS cmds are entered
with the console-id of the EMCS console name.
If the EMCS console name (TSO userid) is not defined to CICS,
'MODIFY CICS,xxxxxx' does not work with msg DFHAC2015 'CICS
Console "emcs_name" has not been defined to CICS. Input is
    ignored'.
To avoid this, prior to z/OS R7, TSO user can enter SDSF cmd
'ULOG CLOSE' which deactivate the EMCS console (IEA631I OPERATOR
xxxxx NOW INACTIVE ). After this 'ULOG CLOSE', 'F CICS,xxx' cmd
is accepted so long as the CICS has cosole name definition of
'INTERNAL'. Syslog shows 'TSUnnnnnn' for such case.
But since z/OS R7, even after 'ULOG CLOSE' and IEA631I, MVS
cmds are entered with the deactivated EMCS console name and so
    gets DFSAC2015 for CICS case.
ISFYMSL needs to clear UPRCONID (console-id) at EMCS
    deactivation/termination.

Local fix

  • Enter MVS cmds with 'I/' prefix, such as 'I/F CICS,CEMT I TAS'

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed in macro ISFYCSP and module ISFYMSL
has been recompiled so that the console ID is cleared on ULOG
    CLOSE.
