APAR status

Error description

  • When attempting to connect to the PDTools v1r7 Common Component
    server, the following messages are received:
    
     IPV0012W Spawn failure for /etc/ipv/v17/ipvsrv1/CAZLCS01.
     Error: EDC5111I Permission denied.  __errno2 = ef076015
     ... Spawn failed; EDC5111I Permission denied. ef076015
    
    
    In addition, the following RACF messages are received in
    the syslog:
      ICH408I USER(xxxxx ) GROUP(xxxxx ) NAME(xxxxx)
      /etc/ipv/v17/ipvsrv1/CAZLCS01
      ...
      INSUFFICIENT AUTHORITY TO OPEN
      ACCESS INTENT(--X)  ACCESS ALLOWED(NO         --X)
      ...
    

Local fix

  • After files are created by running job IPVMKDIR, change
    permission to 755 for file1 and file2 (FMNCSEP and CAZLCS01).

    The sample IPVMKDIR does not correctly propogate
    required permissons for files CAZLCS01 and
    FMNCSEP.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Sample IPVMKDIR has been updated to ensure
    files CAZLCS01 and FMNCSEP have 755 permission.
    A minor change to IPVCONFG sample has been
    made to clarify format of comment lines.
