APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The FMNCSEP setup in the PD Tools Common Component (PDTCC)
  server configuration member (CONFIG=FM) is required to allow
  tapes to be mounted when using the FM plug-in.
  

Local fix

• Configure PDTCC server configuration member (CONFIG=FM) to use
  the FMNCSEP setup.

  *                         the IPV configuration to allow File  *
  *                         Manager to:                          *
  *                          o Perform Auditing                  *
  *                          o Access tapes                      *
  *                          o Use Remote services               *
  *                          o Use LOADLIB copy operations.      *
  *                         However this requirement is not      *
  *                         documented.                          *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  Use of SPAWN_PROGRAM=FMNCSEP in the IPV configuration is the
  prefered method of accessing File Manager from the PDTools
  Common Component. The IPV configuration sample member IPVCONFG
  needs to be updated to reference FMNCSEP and the documentation
  updated to explain why FMNCSEP must be used if you want to:
      o Perform Auditing
      o Access tapes
      o Use Remote services
      o Use LOADLIB copy operations.
  

Problem conclusion

• PDTools Common Component was modified to resolve these issues.
