PI68069: INCORRECT ROUTING OF MESSAGES FROM SMTP

APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• Messages generated from the SMTP server (especially responses to
  MODIFY SMTP,SMSG requests) are being to ROUTCDE 10 destinations
  (System/Error Maintenance) instead of 11 (Programmer
  Information).  this may cause unintended cluttering of
  associated  Operator consoles with information that is not
  really needed for those environments.
  

Local fix

• Perform conversion from the legacy SMTP server to the CSSMTP
  process.

  Messages generated from the SMTP server (especially responses to

Problem conclusion

• This APAR will be closed as a PERMANENT RESTRICTION.  It was
  opened to document the condition so other customers and level II
  can reduce the time spent investigating this in the future.
  Ultimately SMTP is going away and this problem does not exist
  with CSSMTP.
