APAR status

Error description

• This APAR is only applicable when PI45028/UI35411 is applied
  due to changes in the ioctl structure introduced for SMC-D.
  
  SNMP TCP/IP subagent issues message EZZ3210I when trying to
  obtain interface counter data.
  
  The interface index value in the message is incorrect. It may
  be zero or a negative number.
  
  EZZ3210I SNMP subagent: interface index 0 not found in SNMP
  interfaces table.
  
  EZZ3210I SNMP subagent: interface index -797857892 not found in
  SNMP interfaces table.
  
  The SNMP subagent was unable to match interface counter data
  to the set of interfaces defined for the TCP/IP stack.
  

Local fix

• The EZZ3210I message is only issued to the console if the
  syslog daemon is not started.  To stop the console messages
  you can do the following:
  
  -Stop the TCP/IP subagent by issuing the VARY TCPIP,,OBEYFILE
  command with a profile data set that contains this statement:
  SACONFIG DISABLED.
  
  -Start the Syslog Daemon.
  
  -Restart the TCP/IP subagent by issuing the VARY TCPIP,,OBEYFILE
  command with a profile data set that contains the SACONFIG
  statement from your initial profile.
  
  By using the VARY TCPIP,,OBEYFILE command, you can stop and
  restart the subagent without stopping your TCP/IP stack.
  
  If you don't need to run the TCP/IP subagent, you can just
  stop it as explained above.  You will also need to add the
  SACONFIG DISABLED profile statement to your initial profile
  data set.

  due to changes in the ioctl structure introduced for SMC-D.
  
  The SNMP TCP/IP subagent did not correctly process the interface
  counter data from the TCP/IP stack.  If the syslog daemon is not
  started then the EZZ3210I messages will be written to the
  console.  If the syslog daemon is started, then the EZZ3210I
  messages will only be written to the syslog daemon.  In both
  cases all the interface counter data supported by the SNMP
  TCP/IP subagent will be zero except for the IPv4 LOOPBACK
  interface.
  

Problem conclusion

• The SNMP TCP/IP subagent has been updated to correctly process
  the interface counter data from the TCP/IP stack.
