PI55477: FTP PUT FOR TAPE DATA SET WITH MBCS ENCODING

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as unreproducible in next release.

Error description

• MBCS encoding is not supported when the file to be encoded
  and transferred via FTP is a tape data set. There are
  no error messages or abends when the transfer is attempted.

  The problem can be summarized as follows -
  1. An MBCS dataset was on tape
  2. When the dataset was transferred from tape to disk/tape using
  MBCS encoding , the dataset was transferred incorrectly.
      No error messages were reported.
  

Problem conclusion

• FTP is updated to transfer MBCS data set on tape correctly.
