Error description

  • Mqseries with IMS Adapter with Trigger Monitor (BMP).

Transaction goes into a loop condition, and it is then abended.
Backout processing is running IMS DFSNDMX0 User exit
and IMS invoked MQ's resolve indoubt exit, CSQQRESV.

The MQ exit did not backout the unit of work as it was not
currently indoubt but would have returned to IMS with R15 set to
    0.

As a consequence IMS DFSNDMX0 causes the Abended transaction to
    be re-enqueued .
MQGET triggered by the re-enqueuing is ending with RC2033 as MQ
has not yet backed out the message.

Only when the TCB on which the transaction was running went
through EOT processing the MQ backout processing undid the
MQGET and the message was made available again.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An MQ message may not be backed out *
    * when an IMS transaction fails until the *
    * TCB has ended. RC=2033 may result if *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
If a transaction running on an IMS MPR does an MQGET and then
subsequently fails, then the message is not backed out
immediately. It will only be backed out when the TCB has itself
    gone through EOT processing.
If the customer was using the IMS exit DFSNDMX0, the
Non-Discardable Messages exit then the IMS transaction will be
redriven and if the MQ queue is empty will result in RC=2033.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQQRESV has been changed so that an in-flight UR will be backed
    out immediately.
CSQ3EOT0 and CSQ3ID80 have been changed so that clean up is not
done in EOT processing if primary EB has already been cleaned
    up.
