PH40363: ACIF 4.7.0 AT LEVEL PH26391 GETS APK346W WHEN RUN UNDER CMOD 10.1.0.6 ON Z/OS WHEN ACIF 4.6.0 DID NOT 21/09/07 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the input file, from OnDemand, is acquired from the MVS
  spool with a record format as undefined, ACIF isn't processing
  the file correctly.  The incorrect record length is being used
  to advance the read pointer, thus message APK346W is issued for
  invalid resource.

  where the input file is acquired from the spool and the record

  User Impact:
  APAR PH26391 added DCBE support but now when the input file
  is acquired from the spool and the record format is undefined,
  ACIF issues APK346W for an invalid resource.
  

Local fix

• Run ACIF directly in a batch job as shown in  https://www.ibm.c
  om/docs/en/zos/2.4.0?topic=zos-jcl-statements-running-acif

  Avoid installing PTF UI72838 for ACIF 4.7.0 if you have input
  files for ACIF
  that are spool files that have a
  record format of undefined.
