Error description

  • The Application Delivery Foundation for z Systems Common
    Component (ADFzCC) server does not accept passphrases greater
    than 98 characters. RACF passphrases can be up to 100
    characters.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When connecting to the ADFzCC common    *
    *                      server with a valid userid and a        *
    *                      passphrase that is 99 or 100 bytes      *
    *                      long, the passphrase is rejected and    *
    *                      the connection fails.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    Login passphrases can be 1 to 100 bytes in length, however when
    a valid passphrase is passed to the ADFzCC common server that is
    99 or 100 bytes in length, the passphrase is rejected as an
    incorrect 'password/passphrase'.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The ADFzCC common server has been corrected to accept valid
    passphrases with any length between 1 and 100 bytes.
