Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of ADFzCC common server. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ADFzCC common server runs with a *
    *                      TCP/IP listener backlog of 1. This      *
    * value is too low and can result in *
    * connection requests being rejected, *
    * and consequently client connection *
    * failures, when a high number of *
    *                      requests occur concurrently.            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    The ADFzCC common server has a default backlog of 1 for incoming
    TCP/IP connection requests. This number is too low for
    situations where multiple client connection requests occur
    concurrently. If the backlog is already full of waiting clients,
    subsequent client connection requests will be rejected by
    TCP/IP.

Problem conclusion

  • The ADFzCC common server TCP/IP listener backlog has been
    increased to 10 which should be sufficient to handle situations
    of multiple concurrent connection requests
