  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Performance enhancements were made for  *
  *                      the support of ATM Reserved Bandwidth   *
  *                      connections. ATM Reserved Bandwidth     *
  *                      connections will transmit data closer   *
  *                      to their designated sustained cell      *
  *                      rates.                                  *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Modifications were added to the pacing Algorithms for ATM
  Reserved Bandwidth connections. Prior to these changes the
  send rates for ATM Reserved Bandwidth connections could
  fluctuate greatly when Best Effort connections were also
  active. Because of this fluctuation these connections often did
  not transmit data at their defined sustained cell rate.
  

Problem conclusion

• Changes were made to the ATM Reserved Bandwidth pacing
  algorithms to better match the pre-defined sustained cell
  rate for the connection.
