Error description

• Depending on the setting of SSS2VER in SAPI parameter list
  IAZSSS2, being
  
     SSS2VCTP EQU   2                     Version supporting
                                             Client Print
  or
     SSS2VJCR EQU   3                     Version supporting
                                             Job Correlator
  
  the returned value in SSS2RET1 may be different/incorrect
  when SSS2JVCR is being specified or defaulted.
  
  In the reported case the value of SSS2RET1 had the following
  bit set incorrectly for other than the last data set in the
  output group:
  
     SSS2DSL  EQU   B'00001000'     Last data set in output group
  
     SSS2VER  = SSS2VCTP     works correctly
     SSS2VER  = SSS2VJCR     may have SSS2DSL set incorrectly in
                             SSS2RET1.
  
  Verification steps:
  1) HJE7790 z/OS 2.1 and HJE77A0 z/OS 2.2
  2) SAPI parameter list with SSS2VER=SSS2VJCR specified
  3) SSS2RET1 may have SSS2DSL bit set incorrectly
  

Local fix

• Use SSS2VER=SSS2VCTP if extended data is not needed

  The returned area in the SSS2 mapped area (see the IAZSSS2
  macro) is not cleared before returning data for a new JOE.
  This can result in some flag fields such as SSS2RET1 having
  residual data.
  

Problem conclusion

• TYPE/RESTART(WARM) IPL/REQUIRED(YES) CLPA(YES)
  
  CLPA is needed only if HASCxxxx modules currently reside in
  the pageable link pack area (PLPA).
  
  Logic is updated to ensure the returned data area is reset
  when a new JOE is about to be processed.
