Error description
The range table used by IEATDUMP to store information regarding storage above the 2G bar, may become full if a large amount of >2G storage is to be dumped. This will result in the transaction dump being partial. Verification Steps: 1. Dump is requested via IEATDUMP. 2. The following message is shown in SYSLOG: IEA827I PARTIAL TRANSACTION DUMP WRITTEN TO 00001 DATASETS 3. Return code 4 and Reason code 7 from IEATDUMP request. If the IEATDUMP request was issued under the JVM, the following messages may also be seen: JVMDMP025I IEATDUMP failed RC=0x00000004 RSN=0x00000007 DSN=dsname JVMDUMP012E Error in System dump: dsname Additional Keywords: msgIEA827I msgJVMDMP025I msgJVMDUMP012E

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IEATDUMP dumps * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGIEA827I PARTIAL IEATDUMP RC04 RSN07 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The problem may occur for applications that are using many areas of 64-bit storage that are not contiguous. IEATDUMP must track these areas using tables that can only handle a finite number of ranges. When the table is filled up, processing stops. MSGIEA827I PARTIAL TRANSACTION DUMP WRITTEN is issued, and RC04 RSN07 is returned to the application that invoked IEATDUMP. This indicates that the dump only contains some of the data that was requested.
Problem conclusion
IEAVTDMP was changed to increase the capacity of the range table to support more ranges. Conditionally requesting 80K, but will settle for the existing 32K (of LSQA) if only that is available.
