APAR status

Error description

  • DSLIST displays incorrect number of tracks for multi-volume VSAM
dataset while there is a candidate volume in the middle of
allocation. This candidate volume causes the space allocation
logic to exit a loop and not process the following volume.

*                      catalog for a data set but no space is  *
*                      allocated on it. ISPF reports incorrect *
*                      space utilization for the remaining     *
*                      volumes.                                *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
****************************************************************
ISPF reports incorrect space utilization for a data set when
one or more of the volumes does not contain a format-1 DSCB.

Problem conclusion

  • ISPF is changed to correctly process all the candidate volumes.
