Error description

  • External symptoms:
A customer issued a '*FAIL,J=xxx,DUMP' for a TCP DSP to gather
diagnostic data. Although the command produced a dump of the
JES3 address space, this was not enough information to
diagnose the problem. A dump of the NETSERV address space
associated with the TCP DSP was needed, but the *FAIL command
    did not generate one.

    Impact to customer:
      Unable to diagnose problem

    Analysis:
A NETSERV address space had an issue of some nature and
continuously sent requests to the JES3 global, causing the JES3
global's CPU usage to spike until the NETYSERV was ended.
A *FAIL was issued against the TCP FCT associated with
the NETSERV, but no dump was initiated.

This apar is being taken to dump the JES3 global address space
and the associated NETSERV address space when a *FAIL command
with the DUMP option is issued for the TCP DSP.

The projected closing code is PER for release HJS7780.

    ****************************************************************
A TCP DSP appeared to be looping, and the user attempted to
gather diagnostic data by issuing a "*FAIL" command for the
DSP with the DUMP option. The resulting dump, however, did
not provide all the information required for diagnosis. A
dump of the associated NETSERV address space was also needed,
but the "*FAIL" command did not supply one.

Module IATCNIN was changed to dump the NETSERV address
space associated with a TCP DSP on a "*FAIL" command for
an active TCP DSP. Module IATABMN was changed to disable
DAE dump suppression for dumps requested by the "*FAIL"
    command.

       DUMP
    | Specifies that the JES3 abend dump is to be taken. When
    | an active TCP DSP is being failed, the associated NETSERV
    | address space will be dumped as well. The system continues
          to process normally.
