OA34761: CHECKING FOR CORRUPTED CONTROL VECTORS IS INACCURATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Checking for corrupted control vectors in ISTTRITN (input TDU
  processing) is inaccurate and is flagging the TGs received from
  DLUR as corrupted when they are not.
  Additional symptoms: Under certain conditions, in Communications
      Server V1R12 this APAR can result in an ABEND0C4 in ISTTRIST
      (described by APAR OA34834). When this occurs, the TGs sent
      to VTAM from a DLUR EN will not be processed and do not
      exist in the topology database. This can cause sessions to
      fail with sense 80140001.

  In V1R12 z/OS Communications Server, TG vector checking was
  added in input TDU processing. One of the checks of the CV4680
  did not take into consideration that a subarea number is not
  always present. This resulted in the flagging of TGs from a DLUR
  EN as corrupted when they were actually correct.
  
  These TGs were listed as having corrupted vectors on a DISPLAY
  TOPO,LIST=TDUINFO or LIST=TDUDIAG.
  
  In addition, similar checking was added in an internal macro in
  V1R10, so it will be corrected as well.
  

Problem conclusion

• In V1R12 z/OS Communications Server, modules ISTTRITN and
  ISTTRITO were changed to remove invalid checking for corrupted
  TG vectors.
  
  In V1R10-V1R12, similar checking was removed in an internal
  macro and the following modules are recompiled for that change:
    ISTTRBTE   ISTTRGTM   ISTTRGWB   ISTTRINO   ISTTRITO
    ISTTRNUP   ISTTROMT   ISTTRPCS   ISTTRTTG
  
  Module ISTTRCRT has been included for maintenance purposes.
