Error description
Using MPIO, when a thinly provisioned Clariion LUN reaches its provisioned limit, any further write commands fail with a CHECK CONDITION with sense_key/asc/ascq of 07/27/07 (DATA PROTECT, SPACE ALLOCATION FAILED WRITE PROTECT). Paths to the LUN are available, but I/O hangs.
Local fix
Problem summary
When an oversubscribed Thin Provisioned LUN is written beyond the actual allocated limit, the IO might hang. The IO will keep alternating among available paths but will never complete.
Problem conclusion
Disk driver modified to handle error conditions properly when a Thin LUN is oversubscribed.
