IZ78213: AIXPERTMIG SHOULD CONVERT AIXPERTRULETYPE FROM ALS TO DLS APPLIES TO AIX 6100-06

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using aixpertmig, if input file contains
AIXPertRuleType 6 that stands for ALS, it will convert it
to ALS which is no more supported on 6.1
Thus aixpert -c will output :
Error in file "/etc/security/aixpert/core/appliedaixpert
.xml ", line 4, column 30
Attribute 'type' does not match its defined enumeration
or
notation list
An error occurred during parsing
Same apply to AIXPertRuleType code 8 for Custom level
ALS and Custom should be converted to DLS.

Local fix

  • Edit the /etc/security/aixpert/core/appliedaixpert.xml
and replace all ALS types by DLS.

Problem summary

  • aixpert -c command reports following error.

Problem conclusion

  • ALS and custom rules are converted to DLS rules in AIX 6.1
release.
