  • vi -c g/<string>/p -c q <filename> will display the occurrences
of string <string> in <filename> and then open the file in
visual mode. While it should not open file as subsequent
subcommand is "-c q"

Problem conclusion


    

  • Code has been changed to handle multiple "-c" flags of vi/ex
commands. In case of 'g' don't exit out to the parent functi-
on. Instead keep on parsing subsequent subcommands and take
action accordingly.
