Error description
The snap -D command may leave temporary files in /dev. When executing the snap -D command on a system where there is a saved system dump, temporary device files whose names are "<dump device name><XXXXXX>" will be created. # ls -l /dev | grep sysdump01 crw-rw---- 1 root system 10, 11 Jul 30 20:48 rsysdump01 brw-rw---- 1 root system 10, 11 Jul 30 20:48 sysdump01 cr-------- 1 root system 10, 11 Jul 30 20:55 sysdump01j6sGUa << HERE! cr-------- 1 root system 10, 11 Jul 30 20:55 sysdump01nsggaa << HERE! These temporary files will not be cleared up.
Local fix
Problem summary
readlvcopy doesn't clean up it's temporary file if terminated prematurely.
Problem conclusion
Add signal handling in readlvcopy to clean up temporary file.
