Error description

  • The command,
    usermod -l name1 name2
    gives the following error message
    Usage: mkuser [-R load_module] [-a] "attr=value" ...
    newuser
    
    when the SYSTEM grammar attribute is complex.
    eg: SYSTEM=compat or LDAP
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • usermod command returns usage error if SYSTEM attribute is
    complex.
    

Problem conclusion

  • We will output all the attr-value pair in quotes for lsuser
    which usermod/mkuser could be able to parse.
