APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When PowerHA is deactivating filesystems, and the
filesystems are still held open by running processes,
then processing may hang on the "procfiles" command if
there are local NFS-based mounts that are outside of
PowerHA control.

Local fix

  • Avoid using NFS mounts that are not under PowerHA
control,
and assure that the Application Stop Scripts completely
stop all processes so that the filesystems can be cleanly
unmounted.

Problem summary

  • CL_DEACTIVATE_FS hangs
 when external NFS in use.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes has been done
to handle the problematic scenario.
