APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After a migration completed, a subsequent clare fails
with error:
 "ERROR: network_fdt must be at least 5000 ms or 0
   (unset)
 ERROR: Failed to change tunable network_fdt.
   0 tunables updated on <<cluster_name>>
 ERROR: Updating the cluster in AIX failed. Check
   output for errors in local cluster configuration,
   correct them, and try synchronization again."

Local fix

  • Manually reset network_fdt tunable

Date:08/03/2017
After successful migration from 7.1.3.6 to 7.2.1.0 for
all the nodes, run the below command first and then
perform the cluster varification.

/usr/es/sbin/cluster/utilities/clmgr modify cluster
NETWORK_FAILURE_DETECTION_TIME=20

Problem summary

  • After a successful migration from
7.1.3.6 to 7.2.1.0, invalid network_fdt
value is being updated and due to this
a subsequent cldare getting failed.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified code to show proper network_fdt
value.
