*************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * Systems running the AIX 6100-09 Technology Level * with bos.mp64 at the 6.1.9.200 level. *************************************************************** * ERROR DESCRIPTION: * In the latest AIX Service Packs, using the thread_cputime or * thread_cputime_fast interfaces can cause * invalid data in the floating point and vector registers. * * This has been primarily seen to affect Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.3 * and 11.2.0.4), which use this interface. * Multiple errors have been seen in these Oracle 11gR2 releases * as a result of this issue, including: * - ORA 600 errors * - oracle process core dump * - errors in redo logs and check sum errors in other blocks *************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * Install APAR IV93840. * Prior to fix availability, an interim fix is available from * either * ftp://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/iv93840/ * https://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/iv93840/ * Installation of the ifix requires a reboot. ***************************************************************
