APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• PowerHA 7.1.3 clusters which have been
  created on AIX 7.2.1 are unable to change
  the network_fdt tunable, e.g.:
  
  root@ha1clB:/ # oslevel -s
  7200-01-01-1642
  root@ha1clB:/ # halevel -s
  7.1.3 SP6
  
  root@ha1clB:/ # clctrl -tune -o network_fdt=30
  clctrl -tune: 1485-506 The current cluster
   level does not support tunable network_fdt.
  
  because the effective CAA level is 30000:
  root@ha1clB:/ # lscluster -c \
   | grep -e "capabilities:" -e "level:"
  Local node maximum capabilities: SPLT_MRG,
   CAA_NETMON, AUTO_REPOS_REPLACE, HNAME_CHG,
   UNICAST, IPV6, SITE
  Effective cluster-wide capabilities:,
   HNAME_CHG, UNICAST, IPV6, SITE
  Local node max level: 50000
  Effective cluster level: 30000
  
  The same applies to PowerHA 7.2.0 when the
  PowerHA configuration had no backup repository
  defined at the time the CAA cluster has been
  created.
  
  Please note, that also CAA netmon is disabled
  if the 'Effective cluster level' is set to 30000.
  

Local fix

• 1) PowerHA 7.2.0: Rebuild the CAA repository definition.
  
  
     Remove and recreate the cluster with a
     backup repository definition.
  
  
  2) PowerHA 7.2.1 level or higher:
  
     If the PowerHA cluster is at the PowerHA 7.2.1
     level or higher, or can be upgraded / migrated
     to such a level, the problem can be corrected
     via invocation of a CAA (Cluster Aware AIX)
     command . . .
  
     a) Please confirm first that the number
        returned by the following command:
  
           /usr/es/sbin/cluster/utilities/clmixver
  
        is a value of 17 or greater.
  
     b) Please then run the following CAA command:
  
           /usr/sbin/clctrl -commit
  
  Note. There is no work around for PowerHA 7.1.3.
  

Problem summary

• Cannot use clctrl -tune to change network_fdt on AIX 7.2
  

Problem conclusion

• Add auto_repos_replace to capabilities if supported when
  creating cluster with cldare
