APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The entstat command will print an incorrect
value for the "Number of receive bad packets"
statistic for certain 1GB network adapters
when the locale is set to a value other than
"C". In this case, it will always print
1818495488 instead of the actual number.

Local fix

  • Use LANG="C".

Problem summary

  • The entstat command will print an incorrect value for
the "Number of receive bad packets" statistic for FC5899
adapters when the locale is set to a value other than "C".

Problem conclusion

  • The msg file and c file has been fixed so that it prints
correct output for bad packets.
