Error description

  • ***************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:

    ***************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    * PowerHA fails to panic a node when there is a loss of
    rootvg.
    * When there is failed I/O to a vg, disk down and vg down
    * events are not generated.

    * This only affects PowerHA running on AIX 7.1 TL4 and AIX
    7.2.
    *
    * With PowerHA 7.2, rootvg is marked as a Critical VG by
    * default, which will correctly cause the node to panic,
    * despite this defect.

    * Prior to fix availability, an interim fix is available from

    * https://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/iv80883/
    * The ifix can be installed using Live Update (LU).
    * If LU is not used, installation of the ifix requires a
    * reboot.
