Error description

  • Removing a PV from a VG with some partitions of the PV
allocated to a LV may fail with the following error message
0516-078 lreducelv: Incomplete device driver configuration.
Probable cause is the special file for the VG is missing.
Execute varyoffvg followed by varyonvg to build correct
environment.  0516-912 rmlv: Unable to remove logical volume
lvname.  0516-884 reducevg: Unable to remove physical volume
hdisk#.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Total number of LP's in the LV is not updated when removing
a logical volume partitions in the middle. Check for
num_lps in driver to on disk num_lps
