  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using PowerHA to control Hyperswap DS8k LUNs, there is
a small chance that in certain error scenarios, PowerHA will
not swap LUNs when it should. This occurs when the primary
LUN is suffering from command timeouts. PowerHA will attempt
to quiesce the group before it swaps the group. But if the
quiesce lines up with the command timeout, the quiesce may
fail which will prevent the group from being swapped.

In this instance, PowerHA will log an error indicating that
its attempt to quiesce the group failed with errno 78.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the timeout value use for the quiesce operation to
ensure it is greater than the timeout for the SCSI command.
