Error description

  • ECH_MAIN_CHAN_FAIL will be observed in the error log at
boot time when mlxentdd is the driver for the real
    adapters used by the etherchannel.

Note that the ECH_MAIN_CHAN_FAIL at boot time may
    actually
    be valid.

When the etherchannel is configured, it sets a call back
function in the real adapter's driver. The call to set
the call back function can return three values: an error,
an indicating that the call worked and the state of the
link is presently known, and an indication that the
call worked but the state of the link is currently not
known (e.g. when the real adapter is first opened). The
mlxentdd was not utilizing the third alternative.

If the state of the link is known and the link is
    currently
down, then the user will see the ECH_MAIN_CHAN_FAIL
error message even if the link becomes up shortly after
    the configuration process.
