APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When entstat or netstat -v is run on a disconnected
    shiner adapter port, SHIENT_PLINK_DOWN will be logged
    in errpt. This is not desired.
    

Local fix

  • Use one of the following workarounds.
    
    1. Put unused ports in Defined state by doing
       rmdev -l <device>
    2. Configure a dummy and non-conflicting IP address
       on the unused ports.
    3. Connect the unused port to a Switch.

  • May experience the following error log entries for every reboot
    or while configuring the IP interface
    or running netstat/entstat on an interface which is not
    configured with IP
