Error description
iostat will leak memory when using the -V flag; this is more noticeable on systems with a large number of disks, and can cause a core dump if iostat then runs out of dataspace memory.
Local fix
The leak only happens with -V, so not using that flag will prevent it.
Problem summary
iostat with option -V will leaks memory which may leads to core dump.
Problem conclusion
Avoid using the -V option with iostat.
Temporary fix
