Error description

  • An LDAP server normally tears down an idle TCP connection
after it has reached a configurable time duration.

    ldap.cfg parameter "heartbeatinterval" defines the
    interval
for heartbeat packets to each LDAP server in order to
    keep
the TCP connection non-idle for at least every
    "heartbeatinterval" seconds.

It is recommended to set "heartbeatinterval" lower then
    the
according configuration on the LDAP server in order to
    avoid
such "passive connection close" situations which cause
    delays.

The minimum value for "heartbeatinterval" is 60 seconds.

This causes problems if the according configuration on
    the
    LDAP server is lower.

Local fix

  • no work around possible

Problem summary

  • Ldap server normally tears down an idle TCP connection after
it has reached a configurable time duration. This causes a
problem if the configuration on ldap server is lower.

Problem conclusion

  • change the lower value of the time interval attribute
