APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • secldapclntd can core dump when starting up if there is a
line in ldap.cfg that is > 4096 characters, or if the
last
 line in ldap.cfg does not have a terminating newline.
 dbx will show the core dump occurring in read_conf().

Local fix

  • Ensure no lines in ldap.cfg are greater than 4096
characters, and that all lines have terminating newline
characters.

Problem summary

  • When any basedn entry in /etc/security/ldap/ldap.cfg
file is greater than 4096 bytes, secldapclntd daemon
dumps core.

Problem conclusion

  • Secldapclntd daemon modified to provide an error message
when new line character is not identfied with basedn entry.
