Error description
On AIX systems with WPARs, where the WPARs are setup for automount, unmount of the autofs mount points or even the stopwpar command could hang. Only a reboot of the global system will help recover from this WPAR being in hung state.
Local fix
None. Global system needs to be rebooted to recover from the WPAR hang.
Problem summary
When WPARs are setup for automount, unmount of the autofs mount points or even the stopwpar command could hang after automount daemon is stopped.
Problem conclusion
Handle automount exit as needed.
