Error description

  • In 36010,082,000, customer experienced increased cpu
    usage
    for the multisite_connection_monitor process.  The
    customer's cluster was a single site, so much of the
    processing of multisite_connection_monitor() could be
    avoided (as well as this issue) by checking for this
    first:

    ->diff
    ./src/bos/kernext/cluster/net/kcluster_multisite.c.orig
    ./src/bos/kern>
    18c18
    < static char sccsid[] = "@(#)54 1.6
    src/bos/kernext/cluster/net/kcluster_multisite.c,
    sysxcluster, bos61X, x2012_35A9 8/22/12 03:01:26";
    ---
    > static char sccsid[] = "@(#)54 1.6-new
    src/bos/kernext/cluster/net/kcluster_multisite.c,
    sysxcluster, bos61X, x2012_35A9 8/22/12 03:01:26";
    219a220,221
    >         /* TEMP removes functionality */
    >         if(local_stand_alone->kcl_num_sites > 1) {
    290a293
    >       }

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Increased cpu usage for multisite_connection_monitor

Problem conclusion

  • Added check to eliminate much of the processing in
    multisite_connection_monitor() if single-site cluster.

Temporary fix

Comments

  • 6100-08 - use AIX APAR IV61021
