Error description

  • A multi-threaded process of an authentication load
    module,
    such as pdosd, might hang due to a deadlock between two
    threads holding locks on mutex in security routines.
    
    Most of threads are blocked in global_lock_common, having
    stack similar to:

Problem summary

  • unnecessary dce locks have been taken in libc code which cause
    deadlock situation.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Before taking dce locks, add a check to see if the module is
    dce module
