APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When packet transmission and adapter status query such as
    netstat -v or
entstat are running at the same time, the packet to be
    transmitted will
be delayed until next transmission. It may cause initial
    connection
error of the application which has a short timeout value
    for connect.

Local fix

  • 1. Do not run netstat -v or entstat when connect is being
    called.
    2. Send packets repeatedly from the adapter with shorter
    interval than application timeout.

    For example,

    while true; do
      ping -c 1 <target address>
      sleep 1
    done

Problem summary

  • When packet transmission and adapter status query such as
netstat -v or entstat are running at the same time, the packet
to be transmitted will be delayed until next transmission.

Problem conclusion

  • Driver is fixed to start send timer.
