Error description

  • Customer configures a PowerHA unicast cluster with no
sites. Both nodes have two adapters configured in the
cluster. Customer halts the secondary node to test.
PowerHA processes multiple fail_interface event followed
by join_interface event for both adapters on the primary
node, which have not actually failed. Sometimes PowerHA
processes a swap_adapter of the service IP address.

This problem will also occur in a single adapter per
    node configuration.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When there is no packets(CAA or external packets)flow through
particular interface for certain time, CAA generates FALSE
ADAPTER DOWN event for that interface even through that adapter
state is UP. To control this behavior add the new tunable
"no_if_traffic_monitor" to monitor the ADAPTER traffic.
