APAR status

Error description

  • When a printer of type "osp" is created with the parent
    adapter of PCIe 2-port Async EIA-232 Adapter, the output
    will often be corrupted.  If careful examination of the
    output is done, it will print characters 1-16, skip
    characters 17-64, then print characters 65-81 ...
    

Local fix

  • Change the tbc64 setting down to 16 or less.  e.g.
    
    chdev -l lp0 -a tbc64=16
    

Problem summary

  • When a printer of type "osp" is created with the parent
    adapter of PCIe 2-port Async EIA-232 Adapter, the output
    will often be corrupted.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes are made to increase the adapter FIFO count.
