APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A failed accept() in the nimsh service will result in an abort
from the daemon service. This step is done in hopes of
resetting the service and fixing whatever problems may be
causing the failed connects from the pending queue. In certain
instances, this could be too drastic. So, a new check is
    required in nimsh.

Problem summary

  • A failed accept() in the nimsh service will result in an abort
from the daemon service. This step is done in hopes of
resetting the service and fixing whatever problems may be
causing the failed connects from the pending queue. In certain
instances, this could be too drastic. So, a new check is
    required in nimsh.

Problem conclusion

  • Certain failed attempts to accept a pending network connection
will be considered graceful denials until system resources are
once again available. This includes the condition where the
connecting end sends a software abort.
