Error description

  • Issue 1) Corrupting the repository and running chrepos.
VIOS only, has script callouts. These callouts have an unset
timeout meaning they can potentially hang.

Issue 2) Adding a new node was using the default cluster
timeout instead of the user set cluster timeout.

Issue 3) Scripts that take longer than 6min 12sec get timed out
without waiting the full period of "config_timeout".
For example, on vios nodes, the default is 8 minutes but the
initiator node was timing out the connections at 6min 12sec.

Problem summary

initiator node was timing out the connections at 6min 12sec.

Problem conclusion

  • Issue 1) Use the values set in the kernext.

Issue 2) Use the user cluster timeout for the new node.

Issue 3) Improved the logic to take into account the
"config_timeout" tunable and use that value before timing
    out a connection.
