IV57471: COL -P GIVES INCORRECT ERROR MESSAGE

Error description

• If there is an escape character at the end of the input
  to col, and this also occurs at the edge of the 512-byte
   buffer internal to col, then a '1003-708
  Invalid NUL character found in input file' error may be
  seen.
  
  For example, file new_col_test_1 contains a single line
  of text and is 1024 bytes in size, and the last two
  characters are 0x1b and 0x0a:
  
  # col -p < new_col_test_1
  col: 1003-708 Invalid NUL character found in input file.

Problem summary
